Back To Work...

Gidday,

Well, the holiday has finally come to an end. I can't really complain, we had over 9 weeks! The weekend after getting back from my travels I went to the Reading festival for the day with Will, Steve & Kate. We had a really good day, with 5 stages there was always something to see. Kaiser Chiefs & Franz Ferdinand were headlining the festival & they totally rocked. 80 000 people attended the day we were there! We arrived at midday & left at midnight, so fully got our moneys worth for the day. 3-day tickets for next years festival are already on sale & we are very tempted...
I have managed to survive my first week back at school, I have been in since Monday with various meetings and so on, but today was my first full day of teaching. My classes look OK so hopefully it will be a good year... I'm knackered though, it takes a while for the body to recover from not being on holiday anymore!

Rugby is now in full swing, we had our first match, a friendly against Oakmedians, on Sunday. We lost 12-7, but we played quite well, & they won our league last year & thrashed us twice in the process. They are now in the league above us. Hopefully we will have a good season. This Sunday we have the Bracknell 10's tournament which my team won last year.

My other main news is that Will has had the paper he submitted for a conference at Massey University in December accepted. It is fantastic news really because it means that Reading University will pay for his flights to NZ at Christmas. The conference is only for a few days, but he is taking some leave & staying the whole 4 weeks or so that I will be home for. He has managed to book onto the same flights as me. I'm looking forward to showing him around the country, & it also means that lots of you folk will get to meet him as I do the rounds catching up with everyone... The conference finishes a couple of days before my sister's wedding in Wellington, so the timing really couldn't be better. We will probably carry on from Wellington & do bit of a road-trip around the South Island while we are down that way... I'm really excited about meeting up with everyone the length & breadth of the country.

I haven't forgotten about posting a few of my pics from Croatia/Slovenia. Now that school is back my time is suddenly in short demand! I'll get onto it when I get a chance, maybe sometime over the weekend... Hope all is well with you, it is always lovely to hear all your news from your various parts of the world.
