Division 2 Masters Champions

The last few weeks I've been keeping myself busy. My rugby team has played their last few games of the season. I have enjoyed helping out when I can on weekends that I don't have badminton. I've also enjoyed taking a few pics. I especially like the pic of my friend Hiria charging the ball up below... We played together at the Waikato University club back in the late 90's! These pics are from the semi-final against Norths which we narrowly lost.
We are still enjoying our chooks, Florence, Daphne and Dora. They have a new favourite place on the section where they love to dust bath. Below is a very cute videoof them doing just that.
Last week Will and I had a lovely Wednesday night out. We started with a very good meal at the Tasting Room (yummy Beef Wellington with the bonus of a 'buy one get one free' main from the entertainment  book) followed by watching the Royal NZ Ballet's 'Cinderella'. I really enjoyed the ballet, it was the first one I had ever been to. It felt quite decadent going out on a 'school night'. It's something we might try and do more of as it breaks up the week nicely...

A few weeks back I had a Wellington masters badminton match  up in Auckland. We comfortably beat Waitakere and Northland. Mum and dad made the trip up from Hamilton to come watch, so it was lovely spending most of the day with them. This weekend we had our final match of the year, also up in Auckland. This time it was Auckland 3 and Wellington North who we smashed 11-1 each. This meant we were undefeated in our 8 matches of the season, meaning the team will be promoted to Masters Division 1 next year. Mum and dad also drove up to watch for the day which was very good of them.

The team enjoyed celebrating the victory last night. We spent the evening at the Cock and Bull bar in Newmarket. It was a fun night, all of the North Island Div 2 teams had played in Auckland that day, and most of them came out to party that night. The bar had a very good live band so we danced for a bit, the band paused while the All Blacks/Oz rugby game was on, then we continued on for a bit afterwards. That is all my Wellington Masters stuff finished for the year. I've got a couple of club tournaments coming up in the next few weeks, then mid September I'll be up in North Harbour to play the Masters Nationals. tournament.
