Glorious weather!

This week has been lovely, with glorious sunshine every single day. It was made even better by the fact that it was a short working week, due to the Bank Holiday on Monday. Most nights I've walked home from school & pottered in the garden for a couple of hours. It is starting to look really good. Will try & take a few pics during the week, by the time I thought to do it tonight it was already a bit dark.

Wednesday was the opening night of the touch rugby season. It was grading matches on Wednesday, but as defending division 1 champions, we were only ever going to be put into the top league, no matter what our result was. As it happened, we won 13-3. We've lost our superstar Carlos Spencer-esque Glen back to his native NZ, but have managed to pick up another kiwi guy Nick, who looks like he'll be a more than able replacement.

This weekend has been lovely, with a LOT of time spent outside in the garden. We have done lots of digging, planting & weeding, all in the gorgeous sunshine. We've also put together a really nice set of wooden garden furniture which we bought for half-price at the end of last summer. My friend Nicola was visiting for the weekend, so it was lovely to catch up with her. I last saw her at our wedding. Saturday night we had a BBQ round at Scotties, as it was his birthday on Friday. It was a really nice night, & great to able to wear a t-shirt outside till late evening. The BBQ season is always good fun at Bearwood, with everyone within a few minutes walk of each other.

Today we both enjoyed a nice lie-in, as funnily enough, I didn't get a huge amount of sleep last weekend on tour! This was then followed by another long day outside. Nicola was staying for dinner so I cooked the orange chicken casserole from the trusty old Edmunds cookbook which we enjoyed outside on our new garden furniture. Our second major wedding purchase has been a gorgeous set of Le Creuset pans which arrived on Saturday. It includes 2 saucepans, a casserole, & a non-stick frying pan, so I enjoyed cooking with them for the first time. I think Will was a bit worried by how excited I was getting about these new pans, but they truly are beautiful!!!

No other news, the rest of the week is also meant to be lovely. It's sports day Wednesday afternoon, & it has rained the last couple of years, so fingers crossed...
